EMERGENCY TREATMENT
While many times, a "red eye" can wait a day or two, areas of "missing vision" require immediate attention. We will treat your fears with the utmost care and attention.
Eye emergencies include cuts, scratches, and objects in the eye, burns, chemical exposure, and blunt injuries to the eye or eyelid. Since the eye is easily damaged, any of these conditions can lead to vision loss if left untreated.
It is important to get medical attention for all significant eye or eyelind injuries and problems. An injury to the eyelid may be a sign of severe injury to the eye itself. Many eye problems that are not due to injury still require urgent medical attention such as blurred vision, halos, blind spots, floater and other symptoms.
Blurred vision is the loss of sharpness of vision and the inability to see small details. Blind spots are dark "holes" in the visual field in which nothing can be seen.

Call 911 if:
- You experience partial or complete blindness in one or both eyes, even if it is only temporary.
- You experience double vision, even if it is only temporary.
- You have a sensation of a shade being pulled over your eyes or a curtain be being drawn from the side.
- Blind spots, halos around lights, or areas of distorted vision appear suddenly.
- You have eye pain, especially if also red. A red, painful eye is a medical emergency.
