It is just one way that Dr. Steinman and Mr. Dutton of Eyecare Associates give back to the community that supports their business.
SIGHT SAVER DAY
In the fall of 1990, Dr. Steinman and Mr. Dutton began their annual Sight Saver Day to target students in the Davison Elementary Schools who were not eligible for Medicaid and had no insurance or way to pay for vision care services. Each year, on Sight Saver Day, an average of 15 students receive a free eye examination and eyewear.
PARTNERSHIP FOR EDUCATION
Eyecare Associates was the first area business to participate in the Partnership for Education program sponsored by Davison Community Schools. Dr. Steinman and his staff support the students of Thomson Elementary School through educational videos and programs. The students, in turn, keep the Eyecare Associates office visually appealing by supplying original artwork throughout the year.
DAVISON AREA EVENTS
Practice Manager Debbie Gagne is the heart of Eyecare Associates and the driving force behind many of its community outreach initiatives. She is involved in the Davison Chamber of Commerce. She also assists with Kiwanis fundraising events supporting such organizations as: Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Big Brother/Big Sister, Whaley Home activities, Boys and Girls State and Local Drug Abuse Programs. Kiwanis has also provided new playground equipment for all of the elementary schools in Davison along with building the pavilion at Thomson Elementary school. Eyecare Associates is fortunate to have Debbie in the office and supporting the local community.
